To get the basics in place and kick start your career in Business Analytics, you would be required to have a solid base on mathematics and statistics. After that, you would be needing at least one programming language, the most common ones used in the industry are SAS, Python, R, Hadoop, just to name a few. Having an understanding of data analysis and visualization tools like Power Bi and/or Tableau would be a real plus on your resume. It’s important to have a business sense as well since you would be interacting with the client and developers and acting like a bridge between the two. An analytical bent with good communication skills come handy in such cases.
